This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Please support my students this year by supplying snack items for them to be able to recharge while they work so hard. Food is such an integral part of learning. The snacks will be used to feed hungry students while they are in our classroom. Maslow discusses the hierarchy of needs and food falls under the physiological needs which are the base of the hierarchy.

He states that "these needs are the biological component for human survival." According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, physiological needs are factored into internal motivation.

In other words, if these needs are not met then students will be unwilling to seek safety, belonging, esteem, and self-actualization on their own.

After experiencing loss from Hurricane Ian, a lot of our families are struggling to get back on their feet. The majority of my students come from low-income households and this would be a way for me to alleviate the stress of "what am I going to eat today?" Please help me give my students these chips, cookies, crackers and other snacks to inspire them and fuel their brains!
