Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have technology in front of us but fail to use it. Why is this so?
My students are bright, ambitious, and eager learners.
I have been extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to teach at an extremely poor Title I school in Chicago. Even though it has become difficult and sometimes frustrating to educate without needed supplies, our students still come to school eager to learn. Our school rarely has extra funding for enriching materials and, if they do, the funds are used for older students. Many of my students' families will never have additional money to purchase educational materials. Therefore, I hope to be able to provide a fun and interesting way of learning, so my students can succeed in life!
My Project
I am requesting a recharging docking station and cords for the iPads my students use on a daily basis throughout the school day. It is part of our curriculum and my classroom goal to incorporate technology whenever possible. Unfortunately, I currently have to store the iPads in a closet which brings down the battery life/usage for the following day. Having this station and adequate cords will alleviate the problem of iPads going dead during use. This docking station would be a dream come true for our classroom.
This very simple docking station will be a complete blessing in our classroom.
It would keep my sweet first grade students always active and engaged. Please help make this project a reality, so my students can take on new responsibilities.
