Fearless in Fourth Grade

Help me give my students the best opportunity to close the gaps in their learning. They are lacking many foundational skills in math and reading, meaning I teach many extra small groups focused on lower level skills.

My Students

My students missed the latter half of their second grade year. They are coming to me with noticeable deficits in reading and lacking many foundational math skills. They are working hard to close the gap! We could sure use some help!

My Project

The supplies I have requested will greatly assist me in providing small group, hands-on learning opportunities for my students. I have been making do with a small hand-held whiteboard for my small group intervention times. The easel would allow my students a much better visual during this time. I would be able to display reading, writing, and math strategies that my students could easily see. Students really struggle with visualizing fractions. I have been drawing them out every time. The large magnetic fractions would be used to help my struggling students "see" what we are talking about when finding equivalent fractions, comparing, adding, and subtracting fractions.

While my students and I are diligently working with what we have available, these additional tools would make things so much better.
