I have a wonderful group of first grade students who love to learn new things every day.
My students face many personal struggles yet come to school everyday ready to learn.
They know that our room is a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where we can have discussions, disagreements, and problem solve as a team!
All of my students plan to attend college in the future. We frequently talk about the path we need to follow over the course of the next 12 school years in order to reach our college goals. Some of my students expressed their interest in having careers as judges, nurses, game designers, and firefighters.
Our students need these phonics learning centers so they can practice foundational reading skills in an exciting and engaging way. Activities like the Pop and Match Beginning Phonics Game and the Vowel Team and Blends and Digraphs Instant Learning Centers will allow my students to build and strengthen their phonemic awareness. They will be able to transfer their knowledge into reading, writing and literacy skills and beyond. The students will practice building and reading consonant-vowel-consonant, blends and digraphs and vowel team words.
All of these activities will allow my students to build invaluable literacy skills while growing into confident, happy readers.
These activities will be used during our literacy centers to allow children to learn organically through play and collaboration. Thank you so much for helping our scholars learn and grow!
