My Students

Bringing the arts to our school community is a must! Our students come from various cultural/economic backgrounds with most receiving free or reduced lunches. Despite the struggles our students may face, they all come in eager and curious to learn.

My goal this year is to enrich the lives of my students through art and let them explore their imagination and foster creativity.

I also would like to bring the love of the arts that my students have, to their families and the community they live in.

My Project

My students love to learn with manipulatives. In the art room, we not only use basic art supplies to learn but we have Fun Art Fridays where everyone can choose their own activity. I am beginning to build a Choice Based Art room and these activities would be perfect in our classroom!

Our districts budget allows for very limited art supplies and I would like to give my students the opportunity to create art with more three-dimensional objects.

Not only do these manipulatives help tie in art content standards, but they are cross-curricular with Math, STEAM, and Science classes to promote problem solving and advanced thinking.
