Fantastic Fourth Graders Need Flexible Seating Choices
My students need some more flexible seating options for our classroom as well as some storage/organization to help hold their classroom materials as they choose places to sit in the classroom.
I teach fabulous fourth graders Math, Social Studies, and Science in a wonderful neighborhood. My school has been around for many years and we are lucky to have had generations of families attend our school. Many of our students have had siblings, parents, aunts and uncles attend our school. There is a lot of school pride within our walls.
My students are eager learners who work diligently every day to acquire new knowledge.
My students are athletes, artists, creative thinkers, eager learners and so much more. They have many different interests and talents, and come from several different countries. Having so much diversity within my classroom makes teaching my students fun and challenging every day.
My Project
No student learns in exactly the same way, and all students do not learn easily when they sit in a chair at their desk. I want to add to the flexible seating choices in my classroom, as I have noticed that students love the choices that I currently have and are doing a great job learning while in different places in the classroom.
Flexible seating will allow my students to choose how they would like to learn on a given day.
One thing I noticed when implementing a few flexible seating choices last school year is that the students lack a place to put their materials such as pencils, scissors, etc. when utilizing flexible seating. Therefore, I am also requesting various storage containers in which my students can house their classroom materials.
