Third grade is doing great things this year. As a 5th grade teacher last year, I decided to try something new, and so I took a position in 3rd grade, and boy has it been a blast! I have 25 enthusiastic, fun-loving kids, who love to learn. They are creative, love to think out of the box, and will tackle any task with 100 percent commitment. It is a real pleasure to teach them.
My students have unique personalities and learning styles, and as their teacher, I want to cater to all of those needs.
That is why I am constantly looking for ways to make the learning more fun, creative, interactive, and collaborative. I feel that in order to make sure learning incorporates all of those things, I need a variety of tools that are easily available to all of my students, all of the time.
My Project
We have been lucky enough to had a project funded for Samsung tabs, and now we need some accessories to go with them to make it easier to use in the classroom. That is why I am requesting tab cover books and headphones.
They enjoy using the tabs daily, but really need a protective case to make sure they are always available and not broken.
We need the cover books because, let's face it, these are expensive and being handled by children. With the cover books, they would be able to move around the room with them more frequently without the fear of damaging them.
The headphones are so that the students can listen to their lessons and learning games without disturbing those around them. In class we hear music, clicks, dings, and cheers the entire time we are utilizing our technology, and for some students are very distracting since they are not all working on the same thing. To relieve that problem, a good set of headphones will do the trick and they can continue with their enrichment without worry.
