My Students
Foldables are the up and coming way to help students learn important studying skills that many might not learn until college. Creating foldables gives students the opportunity to manipulate a piece of paper into various shapes with different flaps that would allow students to become elite learners!
My students face so many challenges, but they realize that education is the vehicle to drive them towards a more promising future.
With so many issues, it is my mission as their educator to take them away and rescue them from their pressing worries through the joys of meaningful experiences and exposure to what life has to offer.
Our school is 100% poverty stricken with only one other in the state of South Carolina. We don't take this rank as an excuse to have a pity party but rather as a means of motivation. We strive to plant seeds of hope and reassure the students that education is the key that unlocks the doors of opportunity and future success. By understanding that there is more to life than what meets the eye, it is my belief that my students will do what it takes to beat the odds, defy the statistics and embrace the world of education and all it has to offer.
My Project
I am requesting paper. This is something that many people take for granted but is always in short supply in a school building. However, I am not asking for boring white paper. I am asking for brightly colored paper to help learning come to life for my students. As we study ways to keep ourselves healthy by learning the amount of foods we should have at a meal with My Plate or through different ways to stay moving, bringing color to the experience is what will make the difference. My students love making different foldables during math and science but imagine how health and wellness can be promoted in a bright light with brightly colored paper! Coming from an impoverished background already plays a key role in unhealthy eating, so my kids need extra help from the get go. By providing fun and exciting new paper to manipulate, my students will be excited to learn about health and wellness, which in turn will also allow them to remember the valuable information we learn together.
With a climbing obesity rate, students need all the help they can get learning about what is healthy and what is not.
By providing them the opportunity to learn in a fun and creative way with fancy foldables, my students will be at an advantage! Please help us beat obesity rates and have fun while learning important and valuable information about health and wellness by providing us with the brightly colored paper to spark our creativity and interest!
