I teach third grade self-contained. I don't want our high poverty status to prevent the success and growth of my students. My students are trying to work hard and jump over the obstacles that have been laid in front of them in this poverty stricken area. I want my students to have the tools and motivation to not jump, but leap over the obstacles to have a successful future, knowing that college is an option.
