My Project

One of our Common Core Literature Standards is to read, compare and contrast, discuss and write Fairy-Tales, Folk-tales and Fables from around the world. Children love being transported to magical times and places to study diverse tales from around the world.

Help me use the power of this type of storytelling with my 2nd graders.

Fairy-tales, Folk-tales and Fables can be found in cultures and countries all around the world and throughout history. There is no better form of literature to look at life-lessons, character traits, and to see the similarities and differences of stories from many places.

I've chosen books that exemplify the power of kindness, believing in yourself, and making good choices which all tie in with my goals of SEL education and building students of strong character.
