My students are energized, creative, and hard-working third-grade children. They are writers, illustrators, singers, comedians, and so much more.
We are a Title I school, and this year, 100% of students will receive free breakfast and lunch.
We are located in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our children come from low socioeconomic households and assistance is often needed to find success. Teachers in our school are continually helping families in any way possible. We care for our students as our own.
The donation of the Daily Math Fluency Kit would assist my students in grasping the needed foundations in math. Students would be exposed to various Math Talks and the use of manipulatives to build on the foundations learned in each of the 180 days in the program. My students are deficient in their basic math skills and facts. I believe that this will supplement our new math curriculum which expects that this knowledge is already in place. Starting off the school year, I feel as though we are already behind with the lack of mathematical skills. I want to do anything I can to help my students gain skills an strategies to become higher order mathematical thinkers.
