My Project

Many of our kids live in poverty, so being able to express themselves through sewing and cooking is a wonderful opportunity. We are on a block schedule, so each class is 80 minutes long. This gives us a lot of time to work on projects and cooking labs. Having new sewing machines would help us complete more projects.

The Family and Consumer Studies (FACS) classes that I teach prepare my students to live independently and plan for their futures when they graduate from high school.

The sewing machines requested would allow my students to have their machines and not wait for their classmates to finish. In class, they will creatively design and make pillows, tote bags, hair scrunchies, and aprons.
