Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in an urban school district. I teach Math and Sciences at the different blocks- two sciences and one math class. I love my students because they demonstrate an atmosphere of diversity who are willing to explore new things.
Due to the diverse nature of my students, many of them struggle with academic work.
Some of these students walk to school hungry.
My Project
I assign assignments both online and printed versions according to students' preferences. Most students prefer the paper version because they want to reduce the amount of time spent on the screen.
Considering the current pandemic, which necessitates social distancing, the general printer/copier machine we have in school is mostly being used and this means that teachers that want to print or make copies have to stay in line.
Having a printer/ copier in my class will make instruction go smoothly and reduce long lines, and prevent congregating and delay. It will also allow me to correct students' work immediately on their desks without delay.
