My Students

My fifth grade class consists of 20 individuals who are funny, creative, determined, mysterious and a dramatic group of young men in women. They each are full of their own unique personalities. My students love to read, write and work collaboratively on STEM projects. We are a family! I am building life long learners of reading, “lovers” of literature, creative thinkers and effective writers. When anyone visits our room, they will see a room of authors, poets, mathematicians, teachers, scientists and learners!

My Project

My students would benefit from seating options that are more comfortable and flexible. They come to school very energetic and ready to learn. It would empower them to be able to choose their seating options that allow them to learn best. These stools will enhance student engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable.

This seating would give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and the ability to move the stools to areas where they may work best.

I believe that student engagement will increase if students are comfortable and at home in our classroom.
