This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach PE to students in grades K-5 in a multicultural school that celebrates diversity. My students enjoy running, racing, bowling, dancing, and tennis. They also enjoy reading, math, and playing foursquare, and basketball at recess. Our school is an open-concept school which means that there are no walls that separate classes from one another. Every year, we have a family multi-cultural night where families bring food and wear traditional clothes to celebrate their culture. It's a great time to celebrate the diversity at our school.
My Project
I'm requesting fruit snacks, fruit juice and frozen fruit treats for students to enjoy at school or at home. Applesauce that's easy to eat without a spoon will be a big hit. Fruit leather (not fruit roll ups) are easy to pass out and quick for students to eat. Juice boxes will be nice for students to enjoy when they are thirsty. Dried apple chips will be different for several students but something that they might start liking a lot. Instead of requesting more snacks like crackers, I'm hoping these fruit snacks and fruit juice will be a nice change for students. Having these snacks will be great for students to take home and snack on when hungry.
