Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember making crafts in school? Sending cards home for family members, making your own pop-up books, or making your own masks ans costumes? Construction paper aids very nicely in many educational lessons, and we can't afford to buy any for the students to use!
My students are 2nd grade English Language learners all living in a low income, inner city neighborhood.
They are extremely eager and love learning in school each day. Our school is an inner-city school serving 100% free lunch to our students, based on family income levels.
My Project
We are requesting construction paper and chart tablet paper for our classroom. The school provides dull, thin chart paper for class that make the walls look dismal when posting charts. The papers also rip very easily and are frustrating to work with. With new bright white chart paper, we will be able to make great learning charts to help the students learn throughout the year. The construction paper, which our school does not have money to buy for classroom use, will be used for many different educational projects. The students love making beautiful crafts to demonstrate all that they are learning in class.
With donations from generous people like you, my students will be able to have the supplies that more fortunate schools are able to easily purchase.
We are not requesting much, but these supplies will make a huge difference in our classroom. We hope you'll be able to help us!
