Our school is located in a small rural community in Alabama. Being a Title I school, over 50% of our students are on free or reduced-price lunch. I want to be able to give my students all the tools and resources they need to thrive as adults.
From the first day of kindergarten my students come to school ready to learn.
I try to fill every day with learning, laughter, and hugs!
"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” ― Benjamin Franklin. This quote explains what I want to give my sweet babies every year!
Each week the students are given the opportunity to pick from a variety of books on their reading and interest level. Having a classroom library and storage center gives them a place to choose and store their personal favorites.
Kindergartners love to read books, especially the ones they get to hand select!
Having a sturdy wooden bookstand puts students’ favorite books right at their fingertips! The new help-yourself bookstand will be easily accessible—encouraging my kindergartners to help themselves.
The best part is having their very own personalized space to store these reading materials.
They will be able to read independently or share with a classmate during center time. They even love to take videos of themselves reading aloud that specially selected book!
