My students need Scholastic Classroom Magazines because they are a great source of nonfiction text for my students.

My Students
"Can I be president?" "How do you become president?" These are some of the questions that come up after reading an article about the presidential elections.
I work with some of the brightest and most talented second graders.
They love to be challenged and are really great at articulating their thinking.
I teach a diverse population of students from around the world. They come to me ready and eager to learn new and exciting things. It is inspiring to be their teacher.
My Project
This project would benefit students by providing them with accessible nonfiction text. At this time it's very easy to find and provide appropriate fictional text to students. Nonfiction text that is at their reading level and engaging, is hard to find.
I hope that these magazines will provide a variety of reading materials that my students can read and learn new information from.
This project is truly great because these will be magazines that the students can use at school and at home. Students can also gain reading comprehension skills and strategies from reading these texts. Students will really enjoy reading a variety of topics.
