Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Most students come from economically disadvantaged homes, where they don't have the necessary materials to continue their learning at home.

My first graders are very energetic and they love coming to school to learn.

They absolutely love all activities that we do in our classroom especially hands on activities, they aren’t afraid to try new things. My kiddos work extremely hard to learn the many things that are necessary to succeed in school as well as outside of school. My kiddos drive me to provide them with every learning tool possible. They truly are my kids!

My Project

My kiddos love to learn through play and they enjoy learning with each other. I try to provide my students with every opportunity to learn through self directed play. I have noticed that when my kiddos are working together collaboratively they become more interested with learning.

The products that I have selected will engage every single student and their unique learning styles in my classroom.

It will give them a variety of ways to learn on skill instead of just one. The Phonics Learning Locks will help students hear the different sounds and focus on the targeted phonics skill. While the Phonics Magnetic Build A Word will give students the opportunity to see the picture and spell the word out. The Phonics Fill in The Blank Stamps will allow for students to work on a hearing a specific skill and writing in the blank. My kiddos will use these products during center time and small group time. During small group time I can use to introduce the activity and then provide during center time. This way students will use productively during centers. My kiddos will have fun learning and increase their reading skills all at the same time!
