My Project

My students are the most resilient 5th graders from a Title I school in Oregon. They receive 100% free breakfast and lunch each day. Many come from high-poverty homes where resources are limited. Meeting their educational, physical, social, and emotional needs is crucial this school year!

I want to motivate my students to read and give them a creative outlet for choosing books that they will enjoy!

Our 5th graders love to read! They go through our classroom books like crazy! I am hoping to add some favorite series for our students to read and love! They have chosen some of these so we know that they love them! The mints will be used for our upcoming testing season.

When students get excited to read, that excitement spreads through the class! This helps my class form conversations that lead to building a stronger community in our classroom. Books help just about everything!
