Extra, Extra, Aspiring Authors in Need of Writing Supplies

My students need durable pencils that do not break easily and writing materials for their writing centers.

My Students

My kindergarten students have come a long way. They came to me with little school experience, many of them stepping into a classroom environment for the first time. They have learned how to embrace school and have developed good social/emotional skills as well as academics. It is truly amazing to see how far they have come.

My students have developed a love for reading and writing and a strong sense of community within our classroom, helping one another is a given and they do it well.

We are in a poverty stricken community and many of my students come to school with little or no supplies to begin their school year. They have embraced writing and published their 1st books about their 1st year school experience. They were very proud and amazed at how the power of letters and sounds helped them to create words for their writing. They went from struggling at the beginning of the school year to writing with fluency at the end.

My Project

Have you ever began writing something and BAM! your pencil lead breaks? Then every time you get a fresh pencil the same thing happens? This can be frustrating to my young writers. Providing our classroom with quality jumbo pencils and a heavy duty electric pencil sharpener to keep their words flowing would be very helpful and appreciated.

Help us aspire being the young authors we are meant to be by helping us bring our print and illustrations to life with quality materials.

Washable broad tip markers, jumbo crayons and "My First Draw & Write Journals" will give our illustrations life with vibrant colors and the journals will help us to keep our writing in tact and organized.
