My Students

My students are so happy to be at school. While they have some significant needs that impact their learning, they are always hungry for more and have so much joy to be with their peers and teachers.

These kids are in the life skills class, meaning they have some severe disabilities.

They spread their magic everywhere they go and touch so many lives in a positive way. They are here to teach others about happiness, gratitude, and fun. They are the best kids at in the school!

My Project

In my special education classroom, we are still learning some of the most basic life skills. Our busy days can often get messy (bathroom, food, playground, and so on) can make it hard for my students to function. I have asked parents to send a spare change of clothes, but many of them cannot afford to spare any of their child's wardrobe.

One of my students only owns 2 pairs of pants.

Several of my other students don't have more than a few changes of clothes and wear the same things at least 2 times a week.

I would like this funding to go towards a classroom set of sweats and coats that I can label with the school's name. As children need them, I can discretely "check out" an item of clothing and send a note to parents to launder and return. I would also like some socks that I can just give to the students when they need them.
