Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am running an extended school program with approximately 250 students this summer for students diagnosed with various disabilities in grades kindergarten through 6th. Our goal is to continue the academic, behavioral, and life skills training through the summer months. The extended school year program for students with disabilities is not just about academic enrichment—it's about providing essential support, maintaining progress, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Games and sensory toys provide a holistic approach to learning and development for autistic students, addressing various aspects such as sensory needs, social skills, communication, motor skills, cognitive abilities, and emotional regulation. We also have seen the growth that comes from community walks. A walk in the community can be a difficult task without the aid of many people and tools that can keep the younger students together.with the aid of a walking rope we can take those walks. Walking addresses physical, sensory, emotional, cognitive, and social needs. It provides a natural and inclusive environment for exploration, engagement, and growth, enhancing the overall quality of life for autistic individuals.
