Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my classroom, my incredible students inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. Their unique perspective in the world keeps me eager to share learning experiences with them every day. They feel supported, cared for, and safe. Our school is located in a neighborhood in North Phoenix, AZ. The students eagerly come into my classroom knowing I'm going to give them 101% and make their educational journey an exhilarating experience.
Every school day is an opportunity to build, mold, and refine young minds who'll become the leaders of tomorrow.
I cherish the responsibility to guide these invigorating personalities during my part of their path while they both bolster and learn new ways to solve problems.
My Project
My students will gain a lifelong love for math through the ability to have fun with numbers. With the Rubik's Cubes and games, I will create an interactive operations activities where the students can solve varying equations. The 6th-grade students love to play with puzzles and especially the Rubik's Cube challenge. I will meet their needs through the curiosity of problem-solving in the cubic gem of a game.
Students love solving puzzles, why not use that super power and turn it into a lifelong growth ability.
My math classroom offers students the ability to enjoy solving math equations by using their creative minds. I am also requesting other activities like Equate: The Equation Thinking Game, Math for Love Prime Climb, Geoboards - Set of 6, and other activities. By getting their hands on the discovery portion of problem-solving, they will desire to persevere through the productive struggle. These activities can and will become the source of strength my class needs to become everlasting problem solvers.
