Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Art therapy is a great way for my students to express themselves. They have big emotions and look for creative means of expression. Using pastels will not only work on their fine motor skills but allow them to express themselves with their hands in ways that won't hurt others.

Social-emotional well-being is essential for these kids to focus on academics.

Without a handle on their emotions, learning can become very hard. My students come in every day worried about their families, their past, and their future. Giving them time to process and refocus their mind is important in not only motivating them but providing a safe environment to explore and learn.
