Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Art activities help students express themselves creatively and helps to strengthen self-esteem. Art also helps with the growth and develoment of small and gross motor skills, language skills and social/emotional skills. Art encourages working together and also recognizing the work of others.

Everybody deserves Art in the classroom.

The materials that i am requesting will help me to provide opportunities for students to participate in free art. They will be able to create masterpieces at the easels with paper and paint. Muscles will be strengthened while painting at the easel as well. The glue along with the construction paper will be used for creating collages and unique 3D art. The light tables will assist with creativity and fine motor development as students use them to help with tracing.

Art helps to keep students engaged and gives them a sense of accomplishment as they build on their creativity. The art that is created will be displayed in and out of the classroom for students, staff, and families to enjoy.
