This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school that suffered damage during Hurricane Harvey. Most of our classrooms do not have reading rugs for students to sit and listen to their teacher read aloud to them.

As a Title I school, our students come from low income homes and they lack school resources.

My main goal as a teacher is to provide and foster a nice and cozy environment for our students so they can feel welcome at school and happy to learn.

My Project

I would like to have more resources to help my students improve their comprehension skills. For example, my students need to work on getting the main idea, compare and contrast, make inferences, express their point of view, etc.

This comprehension kit is very complete.

It has different interactive games that my students can use during our guided reading time to improve their comprehension skills. I am also planning to use them as literacy learning centers. There are different strategies and games for each comprehension skill in this kit. My students can practice a variety of strategies and get more prepared for our State Test.
