Exploring the World Through Printmaking

Help me give my students Gelli Art Gel Print plates and Falling in Art rubber Brayers, so they can learn how to create prints for various projects.

My Students

My students are creative, fun, and love to explore. When they come into the art room each week, they are ready to learn and experiment with new mediums and expand their creative sides. My students get so excited when I introduce something new, and their excitement doubles, if they get to use materials that they haven't had a chance to experiment with yet.

Their enthusiasm and love for art is fueled by the many opportunities they get to create, learn, and experiment.

My students live in rural Utah, and come from diverse backgrounds and interests. I have found that their almost universal love and appreciation for art helps unify them and creates an atmosphere where they feel safe to learn and grow. They LOVE coming to art class, and are eager to try new things.

My Project

All of my students love to paint. That is, hands down, the most requested project at my schools. The gel print plates and brayers will give my students the opportunity to learn and engage in the printmaking process, while at the same time, expand their experiences with paint and be introduced to ink. They will use these printmaking materials to create various projects that integrate art with science, social studies, math and language arts.

The printmaking supplies will help my students learn and engage in the art room, while they decompress from the stresses of life which include the effects of Covid-19.

While creating art, the rest of the world can be put on hold, while they focus and enjoy making new prints and creations with the printmaking materials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
