My classroom is full of energetic, eager, engaged and inquisitive students ages three to six years old. We are part of a public early childhood Montessori school that believes in following the child, allowing the child to work at their own pace to learn and discover the world around them. My students take pride in their work and what they can do to showcase their knowledge.
"We discovered that education is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being." -Maria Montessori
Each month my students and I study a different continent of the world. We learn about the animals, people, places, foods and other fun facts of each continent. The books in this project will give my students a chance to dive deeper in our continent studies providing them with real-world photographs, vocabulary and traditions for multiple countries and continents.
"The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people" -Unknown.
Help my students learn just how diverse our world is. My students love looking at and reading books about our continents, but our resources are small and shared with multiple classrooms at school. The books in this project will allow my students to learn about other cultures and countries in the world through our continent studies.
