This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The best way for students to learn science and math is by becoming real scientists and mathematicians! Students need more hands-on experiments where they can take their knowledge into practice. The microscope along with the prepared slides will allow the students to submerge themselves into the microscopic world that is all around us. The several STEM experiment kits such as the "Bouncing Planet Balls" and "How to Train a Plant" will allow students to understand how unique our solar system is and how different controls used in experiments can cause different results. Board and card games are a great way to practice math in a fun and interactive way! During my math stations I love to incorporate math games to develop their critical thinking while they have a great time! I also hope to take math to another level by having a VR headset that contains math games. The VR headset will allow my students to get the best of both worlds: learn math facts and incorporate technology! The apple TV will allow to connect our technological devices to the school TV to make learning more engaging.
By donating to our project, you will not only help students connect themselves to the STEM world but you will increase their chances to academic achievement.
The students in our school come from low-income families, therefore, their access to science and math equipment is completely limited. I know if you help our project it will provide them with an enrichment experience to continue harvesting their science and math curiosity and knowledge.
