My students need 6 working compound microscopes to continue exploring. Currently, my students do not have the proper tools to enable them to explore the microscopic world around.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Lexington Nebraska is a wonderfully diverse community with awesome students from many different countries. During the school year, my students have learned science best through numerous hands-on activities.
Since the funding of our Trout in the Classroom project, my students are more eager to explore and learn about the world around them.
Exploring their world goes beyond what they can see with their own eyes.
It would be awesome to have my students experience the microscopic world and beyond. My students love doing hands-on science! Please support my students as they learn and do hands-on science.
My Project
I am requesting 6 compound microscopes for my students to share in exploring the microscopic world around them. Currently, my students have access to a couple of very old and poorly functioning microscopes.
Having working compound microscopes will open up a new world to my students!
The availability of microscopes would expand on projects we are currently doing in the classroom such as: examining the structure of duckweed and other aquatic organisms; viewing a scale and lens of a dissected trout; and seeing microfossils and pollen up close. With working compound microscopes, my students will not stop exploring the world around them!
