My Students

My goal as an educator is for the students I teach to share a love for reading that I have gained over the years. I teach Guided Reading to an amazing group of second graders. These students work best and love reading when they can relate to the text at hand. Their discussions about the text blossom, when the students have past experiences to bring the conversation. I want to keep my students growing their love for ready each and every day.

My Project

Our students are in need of building their content knowledge! The only way for my students to learn about Science is through Guided Reading! I would love to have my students to have a thematic unit about Space! This not only will help each of them learn about the content but continue to grow as readers. These books will be used to create month long unit about one topic area. The students will be able to read, and write about the topic of Space! These books will give my students the push they need to be ready for third grade in just a short few months!
