Exploring Our World Through Digital Storytelling

Help me give my students the ability to explore this world through video. Using the green screen and iMovie app on iPads, students can film themselves visiting the Pyramids of Egypt or the ocean depths.

My Project

The green screen and microphone will be used to allow my students to create video projects in which they explore the oceans, outer space, Virginia, and the world. Students will use green screen technology to "visit" these places and share their learning.

Through creation and lived experience, students will develop a better understanding of science and history.

They will demonstrate their learning in a more engaging and creative way.

With the green screen, I can have students film themselves at the Parthenon, the pyramids, the Great Wall of China. The students can film themselves exploring outer space and visiting the planets of the solar system. They can demonstrate number sense using video to explain addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The topics are endless as they can also explore the settings of stories they read, or use the green screen to demonstrate athletic skills as though they are at the Superbowl or in the Olympics.
