My Students

Our school students SOAR with Northwest Pride! Our students are Successful, Original, Accountable for their actions and they are RespectfuI. I am the School Counselor for a K-5, Title I School and I have the pleasure of working with 475 of the best Kindergarten through fifth grade students in Lenoir County. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and are excited to learn from each other.

My students are a joy to be around with huge hearts and caring attitudes that show in their interactions with their teachers and classmates.

They are eager to learn about all subjects and are always willing to try new things. My students enjoy reading, learning about math and science and most importantly, they enjoy helping others.

My Project

My students are learning about the world around them. My Kindergarteners are learning about school for the first time, while my 5th graders are thinking about Middle School. Each and every day they are meeting new people and becoming more aware of the people in their lives and the community in which they live in.

The Build Me Emotions and People LEGO set that I have asked for will give students an opportunity to explore emotions and physical characteristics of other people, as well as similarities and differences.

This project will also provide My XL World set and a Creative Lego Brick set that contains community helpers and other accessories, such as a wheelchair that they can use for role play. This interactive, fun play will help students learn more about the world they live in, the people who they interact with and will teach them about their communities.
