Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Play is the way children learn, rather than "drill and kill" worksheets. With a hands-on, minds-on experience, I hope to teach my students the early mathematical concepts of spatial awareness, patterning, quantifying, and sequencing. I also hope to work on emergent early literacy by teaching letter and word awareness through specialized materials.

By playing with LEGO, we will explore concepts of spatial awareness, patterns, and creativity.

Giving children the opportunity to create and bring their visions to life.

Using sequence puzzles, we can practice counting and recognizing numbers, both in their sequential order and quantities. We can also similarly use them for letter recognition and phonological awareness.

I hope that in using these materials, I can work to help my students learn and retain mathematical and literary concepts through hands-on, and stimulating activities that go beyond traditional worksheets.

All donations to help meet my goals would be greatly appreciated and would be used for the betterment and to the benefit of young children beginning their educational journey.
