This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In grade 8 we study genetics and DNA. The students love to learn from authentic, hands-on manipulatives! In grade 8, students are asked to "Develop and use a model to describe the structural changes to genes." These hands-on learning tools such as DNA Experiment kits, DNA card games, and a DNA Molecular Model Kit will help them meet this standard. It will also help make the standards make sense to them in an authentic real-world way.

This project will help over 100 grade 8 science students learn about genetics and DNA in a relatable and tangible way.
