This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am blessed to be able to work with children, four years of age, in an inner-city school in the Grand Rapids Public School District. These children come from many different backgrounds, cultures, and upbringings. My students are English and Spanish speakers with our school being a dual language bilingual program once entering kindergarten. One hundred percent of the children in my class qualify for free breakfast and lunch daily.

The children come in each day eager to learn and excited for their day to begin.

The children enter a clean, safe, and caring classroom that allows them to be their most creative and unique individuals.

My Project

Playdough is a great tool to use in our classroom because it provides many different ways to learn and play. The students are able to use their fingers and fine motor skills to manipulate the playdough and strengthen their hands by squeezing, poking, and cutting the playdough.

Playdough is such a fun way to be creative and to allow the students to shine in their own creative abilities in the classroom.

Playdough is one of our favorite items in the classroom and it runs out quickly! Having playdough on hand, will provide an endless amount of fun and learning for each student who uses it.
