Exploring Careers Through Play

My Students

Our students are curious, creative, intelligent, sweet, and fun! They desire more opportunities to play and explore with child led activities. They deserve to have materials that can inspire their imaginations.

The happiest I see children are when they are learning through play.

When students get excited to come to class they are happier and much more willing to learn. I can't wait to show them our new school counseling centers and watch them explore with their friends. My hope is keeping the children interested in soaking up new experiences.

My Project

As Baileyton transitions to a pre-k through 5th grade school, I realized I need to change my outlook on educating young children. Because I strongly believe young children need more opportunities to foster independence, creativity, problem solving, and developing relationships, I desire to have a center based counseling program that has a focus on dramatic play based on career choices. I will have other types of centers too but I need help getting resources for the career centers.

I visualize a classroom where students are discovering their interests and developing their skills through play.

Children benefit from child led activities. It seems like a basic concept to allow them to enjoy exploring career based themes. Thank you for giving these students the chance to do that!
