Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students continue to be greeted every day before they walk in the classroom with a smile and a handshake or a 'dap'! They start the day off sharing good things with their classmates. This brightens their day and helps them to look forward to new beginnings, new expectations, and new learning experiences. My students have embarked on many challenging, yet rewarding assignments in our everyday activities. For our next Knowledge/Science Unit, our students will be learning about Life Cycles of Amphibians and Insects.

Students are natural explorers.

So these STEM activities can bring about curiosity, guiding them to ask questions, share ideas, test hypotheses, and produce innovative results. My students are an energetic, highly-motivated, and hard-working group of students. They enjoy researching and creating various curricula projects and sharing their knowledge with others. Giving students an opportunity to learn in a new way about the Life Cycle of animals can transform abstract concepts into hands-on learning, boosting student engagement and confidence in science.

Therefore, these materials will help students learn about animals and plants, and provide a better understanding of how things grow and change. It will also bring about teamwork, teaching students how to communicate effectively, collaborate, and manage projects.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
