My classroom is made up of Exceptional Children in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. My students have academic and behavioral difficulties, which hinders their ability to meet grade level standards. One big challenge my students face is being able to read grade level text independently.
My students love listening to books online!
Having computer access to books online allows my students to explore different genres and read age appropriate text. It also helps them improve their own reading skills. Having appropriate materials for a listening center in my classroom will bring joy to our hearts!
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help encourage a love for reading. All of my students are unable to read grade level text independently. Having these materials will help provide a meaningful listening center that will allow my students the opportunities to explore reading.
In addition, this listening center will provide needed materials for our classroom.
I have students that are not able to afford headphones. Our families are still recovering from Hurricane Florence and can't afford replacing headphones throughout the school year. I also have students that don't have appropriate sized headphones. This makes it difficult for them to utilize the technology in our classroom.
