This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give nearly 900 students quality art materials that inspire them to take ownership of their artistic expression! These materials will help establish positive relationships with media and visual arts as we launch a brand new arts program for one of the largest districts in the country. These students include TK-5th grade and students with moderate to severe special needs. I have worked with these students to create large scale murals on campus which has led them to increased interest in exploring their own art skills independently. These materials, especially the individual sketchbooks, will allow them to track their growth, develop ideas, and express themselves without restraint to improve their self esteem and engagement in school!
