Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students, more than anything, truly want to learn. They are full of curiosity and each of them learns in a unique manner; many of them are English Learners. 6th graders in our district are making that huge jump from elementary to middle school, and it can be overwhelming. It is important that in addition to our books and curriculum, that they have a variety of opportunities to learn and to show off their new knowledge.

Tools such as student-friendly dictionaries, highlighters for learning how to annotation for understanding, fidgets for focus, and art supplies to explore ancient civilizations through creative expression will support them in their learning journey.

I love seeing the excitement on my students' faces when they figure things out and gain confidence, and look forward to seeing them use these tools to succeed!
