My students are eager to learn and experiment with the various mediums in the art room.As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
In the art room, everyone is equal and each student gets to own their creations!
Creation, exploration and getting messy is the way to go at our school. I always remind the kids that there are no mistakes in art.
Students will explore the printmaking process while creating one of a kind artworks that express their personal voice and narrative. The Gelli plates will allow students to create unique works in a shorter (more classroom-friendly) time frame without the expense of a press.
Our school will experience artistic awakening this year with our new supplies!
Reviving a solid art program in my school is challenging, but with these new tools, our kids can unleash their creativity. Gelatin printing plates are fun and easy for all to use. This project will engage all grade levels in an experimental exploration of color. We will be successful!
