Help me give my students fun, and exciting ways to explore in their Discovery Center and provide my students with autism items them will help them feel safe and secure.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a new teacher in an inner city school district. And, although I am a new teacher, I am familiar with and have worked with inner city students for the past twenty-two years, so I know the challenges that come daily with inner city students. I also know that given the opportunity, these same students strive to do well and love learning. This is why your help would benefit these students greatly. Most often, students in this demographic do best with hands-on learning and activities. The items I am requesting would fulfill this need and be appreciated greatly by my students and myself. Currently our Science center is laking in quality, hands on materials. Science plays a huge roll in todays world and I feel giving my students a fun interactive descovery Center will help them take an interest in science and help motivate them to question why things happen, cause and effect. By provideing the materials I am requesting my students will be able to inquire, think outside the box, and gain a first hand knowledge of things. I believe these materials will help them find a love for science. Thank you for your generosity.
My Project
These items will give my students hands on learning opportunities that preschoolers needs to learn. With these materials they will grow socially, and Academically through discovery and sharing. They will discover science through their own experiences with the materials. My students with autism and severe anxiety will be able to find comfort and security in my classroom and be able to focus on the lesson I am giving. They will be able to pick an item that will help them stay focused and on task therefore meeting their academic goals.
