My students are faced with several challenges inside and outside of the classroom, yet still eager to learn each day. As a teacher in an urban district, many of my students come from single-parent, low-income households.
Every day, they enter the room with a big smile on their face!
Their love for learning has grown immensely over the course of this school year. My students' excitement to learn is contagious. This helps to set the mood for our everyday learning. I am excited to have another year with these kids!
My Project
This project is filled with books! I will have the pleasure of teaching my 4th grade students in 5th grade. Last year, I was able to foster a love for reading in our classroom community. I look forward to another year filled with students who love to read.
As I am preparing for a new year, I thought to myself, my students need new books!
At the end of the year, I asked a few 5th grade students for recommendations. Some of the titles they recommended are in this project! I also found books similar to some of my students' favorites!
