Expanding Literature Resources in the Music Classroom

Help me give my students new books that inspire music lessons in class. Literature in music class can help reinforce form and expression as well as develop language that can be used to describe music.

My Project

As a music teacher, I want to add more opportunities for literacy in my classroom by purchasing new, quality books that have a music lesson tied to it. These books give students the opportunity for composition and sound differentiation in music and provide opportunities to understand the function of harmony, form and expression. They also help to develop language that can then be used to describe music. These wonderful books will be a treasured addition to our music class and will benefit nearly 800 students yearly.

Students will enjoy these wonderful books, with their rhymes and brightly illustrated pictures.

They will love the music that comes with these books and will sing the songs in the hallways and on the playground. Most of all, they will contribute to the ongoing task of increasing literacy in school.
