This year my classroom is made up with 33 spunky fifth graders who are are active, creative, and independent.
At Cascade View we work very intentionally in service that each child is able to reach their innate potential.
I am excited to see the potential of this group of 5th graders as they grow into compassionate people and exceptional scholars.
Out of my 33 students, 6 of them have an IEP in a one or more content areas. 3 of the 6 will be supported by another teacher within the classroom. Although her main focus is to assist those students, she will get an opportunity to serve each student.
My Project
My classroom is in need of a variety of seating options for students. The students in my classroom have a high need for tools that give them the ability to engage with classroom activities and their peer more effectively.
These exercise balls and stools will grant them the opportunity to have a seat that assists them in their ability to focus.
The exercise balls will be used in the manner that my classroom needs them. If there are specific students who benefit from them all year, they may be able to utilize it all year. A few might also be used to rotate around the classroom for a flexible seating like style.
The stools will be used as an option for students when we sit at the rug for activities. Some 5th graders cannot easily sit at the carpet and I could provide the stools as an option.
