The reading club at our high school needs a cozy space inside of the classroom. They're a very sweet group of 9-11 graders, who love to devour books and discuss them with each other. We're super excited about this new club!
The students are craving their own "lounge," where they can read, talk, and manage the club's activities.
The new, sectioned-off hideaway - a tropical oasis - will have things like a beanbag chair, fairy lights, and a rug. Wall shelves will display their favorite books, and a bulletin board will display notes, flyers, and a calendar.
Your gift will make a HUGE difference for these young, enthusiastic readers. An area just for them will increase their confidence and social skills. It also will encourage them to pursue leadership and community-involvement (i.e. volunteering, holding events, advocating for literacy-based causes). Many of the club's members, who are quiet introverts, will now have acceptance, a home, and a voice in their exclusive getaway!
