Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, school ends at 6th grade. This is the year of growth and perseverance, of testing limitations and meeting goals. My class has worked tirelessly this year to prove they are hardworking and dedicated learners. It is a tradition at our school that we end their final year at Chavez with big diorama projects for our ancient civilizations unit.

Usually, we ask families to provide their own materials, but I often find that leaves some students without projects or with projects they are not proud of.

If we can provide students with materials I believe it would allow for a more equitable experience for all students. The project builds research skills, an 8 paragraph essay on their civilization, and a visual display, all to share in a gallery walk with the whole school. Please help me make this final experience of their elementary school years one to remember!
