Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of amazing, energetic, and highly motivated fourth graders. Our school is located in a large city in Massachusetts. Many of our families live in low-income communities. Due to funding limitations, my students are not exposed to the same resources utilized in the more affluent surrounding communities. My students deserve to be on the same playing field as their peers. All donations will help me begin to chip away at the gap, and enable me to support my students to reach their full potential.
My Project
Nonfiction is a genre that continues to expand each day! My current resources are outdated and difficult for students to connect with.
These text sets and magazines will allow for my students to explore the fascinating world of non fiction texts.
Not only will they read about various experiences and life styles from around the world, but they will be able to continue their exploration of non fiction articles with the ability to print new articles to expand our classroom resources.
Beyond exploring the genre, my students will prepare for testing by marking up the text along the way!
